Our client is an international oil and gas company that conducts business through various operating subsidiaries. The Company produces oil and natural gas in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Malaysia and conducts exploration activities worldwide. They operate retail gasoline stations under their brand across 20 states in the U.S. These are high-volume, low-cost retail gasoline stations.  They also operate a network of 12 Company-owned terminals. These terminals, along with numerous third-party terminals, provide fuel supply to retail and branded wholesale stations throughout 23 states.

Perform regional and prospect specific geological studies resulting in the generation of drillable prospects within our Congo licenses.

Work closely with geophysicists, engineers, management, partners and government to ensure the best prospects are identified and quantified.

Incorporate commercial and strategic thinking into technical evaluation.

1. Master’s in Geology Preferred
2. BS or Masters in Geoscience
3. Oil Industry Training courses relevant to main aspects of oil and gas exploration
4. Minimum 10 years exploration and production geosciences experience, mostly operating, with reputable company(ies)
5. Demonstrated ability to generate exploration ideas and follow them through to drilling
6. Preferably some exposure to appraisal and development projects
7. Experience working in W. Africa, or at least deepwater depositional system
8. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a record of prospect generation and geologic support in Deep Water exploration with previous exposure working the Deepwater W. Africa and Gulf of Mexico an advantage.
9. They should have experience and expertise in seismic interpretation, a technical understanding of salt tectonics and siliciclastic depositional systems and sequence stratigraphy.
10. The geologist should be able to demonstrate the ability to integrate seismic interpretations with depositional systems for regional to prospect level geologic support.
11. In addition, the Geologist should also have a comprehensive understanding of prospect risking and resource determination.
12. Must Have legal authorization to work in the US on a full time basis.
