Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform audit work with minimum supervision
  • Position holder must demonstrate ability to effectively plan and manage a detailed schedule relative to annual audit requirements
  • This person is responsible for organizing the associated workload and managing the results accordingly
  • This position requires an individual to be able to objectively assess an external client’s practices and procedures against a standard and make appropriate recommendations where needed
  • Proactive follow up of corrective and preventive actions is a main element of this person’s role
  • Perform risk assessments
  • Revise and/or prepare audit programs
  • Conduct interviews and performs background investigations
  • Identify the cause(s) or contributing factors related to an issue
  • Draft the initial report and management letter and discuss with the client
  • Design and implement CAATS
  • Provides limited supervision, instruction and guidance to staff auditors
  • Obtains the necessary technical knowledge through research and training to perform the tasks assigned
  • Responsible for performance within audit budget assigned to them
  • Prepare the necessary memos and status reports
  • Review workpapers prepared by the staff
  • Ensure that the engagement is finished on time
  • Inform appropriate ASG management and obtain approval relating to any issues that may affect the completion of the audit on time and within budget
  • Comply with all ASG policies and procedures
  • Assist ASG management group on projects as assigned
  • Communicates client and/or staff concerns/comments to the appropriate ASG management member
  • Develop the ability to identify cross-selling opportunities among existing clients, even if those opportunities must be referred to a more experienced professional within the firm for follow-up
  • Begin to build a personal network by attending professional/community/trade meetings, therefore increasing your peer-level business contacts

Education & Experience

  • University graduate
  • Strong quality systems background
  • Auditor Certification (AIB/ASQ/Other) /ISO lead assessor certification DESIRABLE
  • CPA and/or CIA Certification or may have passed a portion of the exams
  • 40 Hours of CPE Training
  • Has two to five years experience (some of the experience MUST BE with a Public Accounting Firm and must have above average human relations and communication skills
