Client |
My client has been in continuous operation for over 100 years and each year, during the past ten years, has seen an increase in business and has been able to see an increase in their profit margin. They have successfully been able to continue to penetrate their market space and have, in the past five or so years, purchased some of their competitors, thus expanding their market share. They manufacturer a very specific product used in their market sector and have a solid history. One aspect of this client is that they are very clear in what they are looking for in terms of candidates for all of their positions and take all of their potential “new” employees through a very extensive interview process. While their process is extensive it usually ensures that both my client and candidate are good fits for one another. |
Sample Product Line |
My client’s products provides their customers a premium internal corrosion resistant lining system for oilfield steel tubing and line pipe. This unique insert liner process secures a corrosion resistant material such as GRE (glass- reinforced-epoxy) or PVC (polyvinyl chloride) inside the steel pipe. The benefit? Isolation of corrosive oilfield fluids and gases from the steel. The cost of replacing failed downhole production tubing or subsea flowlines is extremely high. My client’s products offer an unsurpassed record for prevention of corrosion in very demanding conditions. My client offers cost-effective superior performance compared to the less durable option of spray-on coatings. Our Client is the world’s premier corrosion protection system for oilfield steel tubular goods in downhole service. One product is a fiberglass-epoxy liner placed inside steel tubing, and it comprises the bulk of our client’s sales activity. Our client has successfully managed to develop worldwide name recognition for their product line, as well as a reputation of providing excellent corrosion solutions. This effort is supported by a very professional level of representation in worldwide manufacturing and marketing partners. Highlights of recent activities include inquiries for our client’s products into sour gas & oil production applications, as well as offshore large diameter water injection wells. In addition, the results of recent R&D efforts show considerable promise of offering several new liner systems to their corrosion showcase. It is their goal to develop and maintain the most comprehensive offering of liner options to fit the full spectrum of oilfield applications; from shallow water injection wells to high temperature deep sour-gas production wells, for both onshore and offshore service. A new welding connection technology will also benefit the marketing of our client’s internal linings for transportation lines and pipeline projects. Domestic sales of our clients products into the key area of secondary and tertiary oil recovery projects have demonstrated steady growth. Future CO2 and waterflood expansion projects in the Mid-Continent and Permian Basin should support steady booking levels. Improved throughput capacity at the West Texas and the new North East Texas plant has been a necessary and rewarding complement to the sales growth. |
Position Description |
This position will report to the Engineering Manager located at the West Texas location. They will begin their employment, depending on when they are hired, at their Midland/Odessa location which will last between 3 to 6 months and then will transition to the East Texas location, where a new facility is under construction, and it is at that time that the “family relo” assistance will take place. Penetrate the end user market to influence both the specifications and the buying decisions of the “end user”. Specific emphasis will be on researching each targeted account, developing relationships with key individuals and influencing the decisions throughout the entire buying chain with emphasis on the engineering departments. This WILL REQUIRE some INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL to the end users where you will discuss with their engineers exactly what they are looking for in new and /or improvements to their “down hole” products. There will also be significant domestic travel for the same purpose, i.e., getting your employer’s product specified for their use in the oil/gas drilling process. THIS IS CRITICAL AND ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION. If you have the experience of working with a client’s end user specifying engineer then be sure and discuss that in your cover letter and show it clearly in a “bullet” in your resume. |
