Compensation

  • Base Salary will likely be up to $80K (Please note that this is “my” best guess as to the comp. base. They have been in this business a good while and know what an appropriate base salary is for this position) plus Bonus.

Client

Our client is an oil and gas exploration and production company with operations in the Gulf of Mexico, one of the most attractive hydrocarbon basins in the world.  They have a management team noted for its technical expertise, an incomparable asset suite, and the financial support of their international corporate headquarters.

Their deepwater drilling campaign is starting in the fall of 2009 with the drilling of a deepwater appraisal well with a TD of 33,000 ft in 3,500 ft of water.  Shortly after that well is completed, they will be into a 1.5 rigs/year, deepwater, subsalt exploration drilling program. Drilling engineering staff members are now being recruited to support that

Job Details

Our client is looking to fill the following contract position in Houston, Texas.  Under general supervision, provides technical and organizational support to the Drilling and Completions (D&C) organization.

  • Acts as the primary resource for data quality and storage within the D&C daily reporting system (OpenWells).
  • Prepares wellbore schematics.
  • Maintains D&C technical files, both electronic and paper versions.
  • Develops, maintains and provides computer support for the Department as well as various computer programs/databases utilized to gather, store and manipulate various sources of drilling well data and information.
  • Coordinates benchmarking data submissions Rushmore and Dobson.
  • Compiles end-of-well reports.
  • Assists with data submissions to support insurance claims.
  • Assists engineers with analysis and post-well project evaluations.
  • Prepares presentation materials for the department.
  • Coordinates the maintenance of remote rig PC hardware.
  • Acts as a resource to other drilling organizations within the Company.
  • Acquires and compiles pertinent technical data from vendors and engineers and assists in preparing technical specifications.

Education & Experience

  • High School education with at least five years of experience in a drilling/completion environment OR
  • An Associate’s degree in a technical discipline OR
  • A combination education and experience.
  • Off Shore Experience
