Fee Structure

While North American will conduct a retained search for a salary level below $200,000 per year, we will only search for a position over $200,000 in base pay as a retained search. The fee for our professional services is set at an amount equal to thirty percent (30%) of the estimated first year's total cash compensation of the selected candidate. If the final negotiated first year's total cash compensation is less than or more than the initial estimate, an adjustment of the amount paid to North American is made when the candidate is hired.

Our professional fee is divided into three installments:
  • A retainer, one-third (1/3) of the total estimated fee, is due upon acceptance of the assignment.
  • One-third (1/3) of the total estimated fee is due upon presentation of our work-in-progess summary, usually thirty to forty-five days from the beginning of the assignment.
  • The balance of the total actual fee is due on the start date of the successful candidate.

Actual, direct expenses and administrative expenses incurred during the course of the search will be billed on a monthly basis. Expenses incurred by candidates during the interview process are reimbursed by the client company directly to the candidate.
