Position Summary

Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer with responsibilities across Our Client's Kentucky Facility. Executes Our Client's Supplier Quality vision and works collaboratively with the Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to assure that all parts, supplies, components and services received from outside sources are delivered on time and according to the specified level of quality. This involves being a liaison between Our Client's internal customers and external suppliers to provide flow of parts and information of the highest level of quality.

  • Establish quality and performance expectations for suppliers. Provide leadership to ensure accountability to the expectations

  • Develop robust suppliers for parts/services that possess a strong organizational, technical and financial base with proven quality and delivery capability 

  • Develop and maintain a supplier certification system

  • Provide technical assistance to suppliers in the development of business systems, statistical process control, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement to meet quality and delivery performance requirements

  • Develop and manage process improvement through a cross-functional team concept

  • Manage and track non-conformances of incoming components

  • Monitoring of supplier performance using KPIs and conduct supplier quality audits

  • Communicate performance measurements to suppliers and coordinate improvement activities, when needed

Required Qualifications of the Supplier Quality Engineer

  • Minimum BS degree in Mechanical Engineering/Quality Engineering/Industrial Engineering or equivalent REQUIRED. Master degree DESIRABLE

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience involving Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Quality functions

  • ASQ Certification as a Quality Engineer or Quality Auditor DESIRED

  • Knowledge and experience in statistical controls

  • Proven leadership skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience working with Teams

  • Has worked successfully within an APQP structure

  • Well versed in understanding & developing robust Process Flow, PFMEA's, and Control Plans

  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Google Sheets, Minitab, etc.) 

Compensation

  • Base salary, DOE, will be between $70,000 to $110,000
