Client Overview

Our Client has recently sold off a portion of their business and thus their yearly total revenue has dropped to around $50 – $70 Million a year with approximately a total head count of between 90-100 full time employees.  This privately owned OEM has been in business for over 100 years and continues to market and sell their products internationally.

Their product is for a niche market that they have worked in for over a century and they continue to grow that market.  Theirs is a special product produced with a very high level of quality and due to their stringent manufacturing guidelines their product increases the life of their customers business.


Plans, executes, and drives the sales activity for the assigned channel across all brands in division. Targets and manages daily activities, in OEM’s, system integrators, distributors, alternate channels, contractors, specifiers and end-users to ensure efficient and productive performance to move the business forward. Improves market share, and supports all assigned marketing campaigns for sales organization. Manages daily sales activities, including independent sales reps to ensure efficient and productive performance to gain market share by assuring the full utilization of all assigned sales resources.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Enhance product sales and margins by providing market intelligence for pricing decisions and positioning

  • Responsible for managing and assimilating accurate market data into the CRM for current and future use

  • Develop and adjust sales forecasts by product line, territories and manufacturing representative as required to meet the needs of the organizational goals

  • Coordinate with inside sales to maximize organizational alignment, full utilization of sales resources and market intelligence to maximize opportunities

  • Call on all aspects of channel to include manufacturers representatives, distribution, OEM’s, system integrators, end users, contractors...

  • Maximize channel through demand creation and targeted channel strategies to increase market share

  • Research and document information on customers and develop contacts in the market for winning market share

  • Analyze quote performances by customer, industry type, territory, and channel and make recommendations to increase market share

  • Responsible for executing new product promotion, campaigns, and associated sales performance

  • Participate in various channel, marketing, and training programs i.e.: instructs various portions of educational programs and acts as a member of the faculty to help reinforce key points with manufacturer’s reps, specifier’s, contractor’s and distributors, OEM’s, and end-users

  • Work with sales management and marketing to create and build new loyal channel opportunities

  • Identify and participate in new product developments

  • Provide field technical support of all product lines

  • Manage multiple brands, holds accountability in channel, makes recommendations for sales reps and alternative channels as assigned or expected performance

  • Execution of Leads & Opportunities Generated to Full Utilization

  • Responsible for adherence and knowledge of all ISO processes, procedures, flowcharts, and quality policy

  • Responsible for driving Self-Managed Performance (SMP) program through organization through self-motivation, initiative, and participation


  • Must be willing to travel between 50-80% of the time within your territory.

  • Previous Business Development Management experience for a manufacturing organization

  • Documented development of new business

  • Documented improvement in sales in established accounts

  • Experience using various software for account tracking


  • DOE, Base Salary: $80-140K
