Job Summary

Direct the development, implementation, and coordination of policies and programs covering the following areas: 

  • Employment
  • Wage and salary management incentive compensation
  • Organization development and succession planning
  • Training assessments
  • Safety, benefits, payroll and employee services, and employee relations.

Training & Development

You are expected to participate in training and development activities throughout your employment with the company to ensure the excellence of the performance of your assigned duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage, review, recommend, and implement actions to achieve company objectives in the areas of staffing, training and development, compensation, employee relations, safety, wellness, policy development and administration, and payroll / benefits management

  • Analyze wage and salary data to determine competitive compensation plans

  • Prepare personnel forecasts to project employment needs (long term, short term and succession planning)

  • Write directives advising department managers of company policies on all HR matters, including but not limited to; equal employment opportunities, compensation, benefits etc.

  • Develop and maintain HR information systems to support top management statistical data reporting needs

  • Manage employee relation issues in union and non-union environments

  • Support management in negotiating collective bargaining agreements (if applicable)

  • Oversee the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other official departments

  • Consult legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state laws

  • Study legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends

  • Responsible for filing timely responses for unemployment claims and appeals, as well as all other third party request for information

  • Coordinate, implement and monitor division safety & wellness programs, including preventative safety/health measures, annual health fairs etc.

  • Write and deliver presentations to corporate officers or government officials regarding HR policies, practices and procedures

  • Participate in monthly Operations Meetings and quarterly Executive Operations Meetings

  • Drive organizational change and communicate expectations to all levels

  • Responsible for annual department budget

  • All department processes and procedures documented and the appropriate individual(s) trained and cross-trained as necessary

Required Education/Experience/Skills

  • High School Graduate Mandatory

  • Completed 4 yr. Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management and/or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in Product / Manufacturing environment

  • Project Scheduling, Budgeting and Time Management experience

  • Proficient Verbal and Written English Communication Skills


  • Familiarity with MRPII
  • Industrial Relations / Union Environment experience
