CLIENT OVERVIEW

Our Client is an Austin-based Boutique CPA firm offering the highest quality tax, accounting, consulting, FBAR and FIRPTA services to Domestic and International Clientele including:

  • Tax planning and preparation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, and trusts (U.S. citizens, residents, expatriates, and nonresident aliens)

  • FIRPTA compliance for foreign sellers of U.S. realty, and assistance with recovering funds withheld under FIRPTA

  • FBAR and Form 8938 disclosure of your foreign financial accounts – and avoiding the penalties

  • Trust, estate, and gift tax preparation and consultation (domestic and international)

Our Client is seeking a Tax Manager who will acquire equity in Our Client’s firm, and who will have the opportunity for International Tax training.

POSITION SUMMARY

Our Client has a focus on International Taxation with an established Domestic Tax and Consulting practice as well. They provide high quality tax, accounting, consulting, and FIRPTA services to individuals and small businesses. Our Client was established in 2002, their professionals have been there for over 6 years, and they are co-founders of the 90-member Attorney and CPA International Tax Forum of Texas.

The owner of the business has over 40 years in business and thus the interest in finding a CPA with experience in or an interest in International Tax business as the owner is ready to begin “slowing” down in the next several years.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Desire to work with a wide range of nationalities and ethnic groups

  • CPA with at least 5 years of tax return preparation and accounting experience in a public accounting firm (optional): with training and experience in International Tax

  • If NO International Tax experience, then an interest in learning International Tax

  • Ability to communicate complex matters in an understandable way

  • Friendly, cheerful demeanor, good sense of humor, and enjoy community

  • Punctuality

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of tax returns and review of returns

  • Tax research, planning, and consultation

  • Accounting clean-up work for clients; possible preparation of in-house financials

  • Some administrative responsibilities

  • Remote work? Yes, (for the right candidate), but on-site preferred.

COMPENSATION

  • Base Salary: $90K-$140K depending on qualifications and experience plus an annual bonus of about 5% of collected billings.

  • 26 vacation days, 7 sick days, & 11 holidays

  • Allowance for medical insurance.

  • Time-and-a-half overtime pay (typically not more than a few hours a week and for not more than 4 weeks/year) and double-time holiday pay for all professionals and staff, paid or exchangeable for time off.
