CLIENT OVERVIEW

A diversified, privately held, Ohio-based Holding Company, is seeking a dynamic Vice President, International Dealer Development (VPDD), to round out its executive team.

The Vice President is responsible for seeking out new dealers and distributors throughout the US.  Develops, coordinates, and implements marketing plans designed to identify and capture new dealer/distributor business opportunities for the International OEM.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of International Dealer Development is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the strategic growth, optimization, and performance of Our Client’s US and global dealer network.

This individual will drive market expansion, enhance dealer capabilities, and ensure alignment between dealer objectives and Our Client's business goals.

The VP will be a key driver in increasing market share and revenue through a strong, engaged, and high-performing dealer ecosystem supporting Our Client’s diverse product lines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Dealer Network Development & Performance Management

  • Develop and execute a global dealer growth strategy, targeting untapped and adjacent markets through structured recruitment, onboarding, and capability development.

  • Analyze markets and define dealer standards, using data to identify gaps, set selection criteria, and ensure alignment with Our Client’s brand and service expectations.

  • Build a scalable Certified Dealer Program and lead readiness efforts for product launches or acquisitions, ensuring dealers are trained, equipped, and aligned with territory and performance goals.

  • Drive dealer performance through clear benchmarks, structured reviews, and incentive programs that reward growth, service excellence, and brand alignment.

  • Implement standardized processes and agreements for onboarding, training, compliance, and performance management, leveraging CRM tools and analytics to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.

Relationship Management & Support

  • Serve as the primary liaison to the dealer network, building strong, transparent relationships across ownership, sales, and service teams.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and regional sales leaders to ensure dealer success, resolve issues, and align territory and growth strategies.

  • Support dealers throughout the sales cycle, providing technical guidance, bid assistance, and product training for complex opportunities and major projects.

Market Intelligence & Sales Enablement

  • Leverage dealer insights and market intelligence to shape product strategy, competitive positioning, and go-to-market plans.

  • Partner with Marketing to equip dealers with sales tools, training, and promotional content that drive engagement and growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in sales, dealer development, or business development within industrial equipment, commercial vehicles, or heavy-duty machinery sectors.

  • Demonstrated success building and managing dealer channels in B2B markets, ideally with both domestic and international scope.

Skills

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret market data into growth plans.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills at all levels of an organization.

  • Technically capable of understanding and presenting complex mechanical systems.

  • Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Leadership skills including coaching, team development, and accountability management.

  • Ability to travel 60–75% domestically and internationally for dealer visits, sales support, and events.

  • Familiarity with government procurement, channel sales models, and capital equipment financing is a plus.

  • CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus.

COMPENSATION

  • Depending on Experience the base salary will be $190-250K plus performance bonus which will be determined if selected
