POSITION SUMMARY
Our client is seeking an Entry Level Civil/Geotechnical Engineer (EIT) for their Washington State HQ. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in geotechnical engineering principles and will play a key role in the design, analysis, and construction of infrastructure projects.
This position is ideal for early-career professionals who are eager to apply engineering fundamentals in both field and office settings while working toward professional licensure. The role provides exposure to geotechnical investigations, engineering analyses, design, and construction-phase services under the mentorship of licensed Professional Engineers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in providing technical expertise for studies and design efforts;
Conduct geotechnical site investigations, including soil sampling, field testing, and laboratory testing to determine soil properties and site conditions.
Perform construction observation and materials testing; prepare accurate daily field reports.
Assist in analyzing and interpreting data from geotechnical investigations to assess the stability of foundations, slopes, and retaining walls.
Support engineering analyses and calculations related to foundations, retaining structures, earthwork, shoring systems, and groundwater control.
Serve as the Project’s point of contact with clients, agencies and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals;
Identifies discrepancies in results;
Assist in leading civil/geotechnical investigations and design activitie
Assist and work with Senior Engineers to perform geotechnical analysis using advanced software tools to assess soil behavior and settlement, bearing capacity, and slope stability;
Evaluate site conditions with Senior Engineers for potential hazards (e.g., liquefaction, landslides) and provide mitigation strategies;
Collaborate with Senior Engineers, Project Managers, Contractors, and Clients to support successful project delivery.
Maintain compliance with company safety standards and project requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent communication, leadership, mentoring, writing, interpersonal and presentation skills;
BS/BA in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
Must Have a Minimum of Six 1-2 Years of experience in geotechnical engineering, including site investigations, soil testing and foundation design;
Engineer In Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) license or in progress and ability to obtain within 6 months.
Willingness to travel to job sites and perform fieldwork in varying conditions.
Self-Motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
COMPENSATION
Base Salary: $85K—100K (DOE—Base could go higher for the right individual)
